RUAKURA EXHIBIT AT WAIKATO SHOW.
A very interesting and attractive exhibit was staged by the Ruakura Government Farm of Instruction at the Waikato Winter Show last week. It comprised exhibits for the farmer, the orchardist, the beekeeper, and the -poultry farmer, and each section was a credit to the institution. The pride of place probably went to the apiary division, and their comprehensive and most artistically got up show was very generally admired. The poultry division exhibited some excellent specimens of the various breeds of fowls, as well as a simple cool brooder for young chicks, which will be further described l<tter on. The orchardist had on view typical specimens of apples, and also showed in glass jars samples of the many diseases that attack fruit crops, and with each the remedies to be applied or preventive measures to be taken. For the farmer specimens of root crops were staged, common farm weeds were exhibited, and grass plots •were neatly set out. The whole formed a very instructive exhibit, an which farmers found much to interest them.
