BEQUESTS TO RELIGIOUS AND CHARITABLE INSTITUIONS.

WELLINGTON, June 14. The will of the late Tnomas Brown, of ±$rown, Ewing and (Do., drapers, has been sworn for probate at £140,000. The following public' bequests have been made;— Trustees of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, for Sunday school purposes, £500; Presbyterian Church of New Zealand aged and infirm ministers' fund, £500; to the General of the Salvation Army for Army rescue work within New Zealand, £500: Presbyterian Social Service Association, £1000; Knox College Council, £100; Anglican Cathedral, £100; Conservation Society £100; JBarnardo Homes, London' £1000; Art Gallery, £500; Institute for Deaf and Dumb (Sumner), £1000; Jubilee Institute for the Blind (Auckland), £1000; Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, £1000; maintenance by the Presbyterian Social Service Association of the Ross Home, £1000; Society for Protection of Women and Children, £250; Shipwreck Relief Society, £200V.M.C.A., £400; Y.W.C.A., £250; Red Cross Society, £500; also £1000 to the Vicar of. the parish of Wooller i (Northumberland) for the poo r of the town.
