The football match between the Pioueer Battalion team and Manawatu was played to-day. Manawatu, with the vind and sun in their favor, scored 9 points in the first half, the Maoris failing to score. In' the second half the home team showed lack of condition. The Pioneers won easily by 22 points to 9.
