NEW ZEALAND.
The influenza notifications continue to show that the country is getting rid of the sickness. The Minister of Public Health stated on Saturday that between June 2 and June 5 the total number of influenza cases notified throughout the Dominion was 12, of which only two were severe There was one pneumonic case in Wellington, and a fatal case in Canterbury. During the month of May there were ten cases of cerebrospinal meningitis in I the Dominion—three at Lower Hutt i three m Hawke's Bay, three in Otago' I and one m a place not specified. Two ' ot the cases proved fatal. j During the week ending June 2 there I we?_ P:?L cases of infectious diseases notihed. Particulars were as follows:—: Scarlet fever, 36; diphtheria, 67; en-! teric fever, 6; tuberculosis, 18; cerebro-1 spinal meningitis, 2; infantile paraly-1 sis, 1; influenza. 42; measles, 13; lethargic encephalitis, 7. Of the last-men-tioned disease t wo of the cases were at Auckland, four at Wellington, and one' in Wairarapa. I
