CASE AGAINST PROHIBITION LECTURER.

(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) . NAPIER, June 5. A case is being heard before Justices m which Richard" White is proceeding against W. D. Bayley, prohibition lecturer, for using alleged insulting, language. The action arose outoovaf v a row at a prohibition meeting at Port Ahuriri on April 6, when White, who was employed as a clerk by the licensed victuallers, was asking questions. It is alleged that Bayley said to him: "You are a traitor if you work for such an infamous traffic. You are unfit to wear the King's uniform. You are a scoundrel." Thereupon the crowd took to Bayley, who drove off in a motor car. The case is proceeding.
