ANNUAL MEETING

At the annual meeting of the N.Z. Farmers' Fertiliser Company, the report stated that the cost of works was estimated at £218,000, accounted for by the decreased purchasing power of the sovereign and increased cost of materials. The balance sheet to March 31 showed £17,544, for which there was no visible asset. The expenditure, which covered three and a half years, was generally accounted for by preliminary, expenses and brokerage. Generally speaking, affairs were more satisfactory than anticipated by some shareholders' Dissatisfaction was expressed by southern delegates that southern districts were not represented on the directorate, and the explanation given was that this would mean an alteration in the articles of association. The directors were quite willing to make such provision as soon as possible. The report and balance sheet were adopted, and a cordial vote of thanks to directors f«r the manner in which they had conducted the business of the' company was passed.
