In the evening Mr Hughes delivered an lllustraited lecture on the work-of the Y.M.C/A. -abroad before a fairly numerous and appreciative audience. He gave a graphic account of the magnificent services rendered by his organisation. The beautiful lantern slides and cinematograph films added conffideraTrfy to tEe pleasure of the evening. Everybody came.away more than delighted. The Mayor presided, and at t"he close Mr Hughes was accorded ia hearty vote of thanks, which wae carried 'by acclamation.
