[ DROUGHT IN MARLBOROUGH

Marlborough, in common with the rest of the Dominion, is feeling the result of the severe drought, though not to the same extent as Hawke's I Bay and the north of Auckland/ Rain is badly wanted, but the lucerne to some extent is stallrng off disaster. Water is giving out in many rivers and creeks are drying up. No mortality in stor;k has been reported, but prices have fallen considerably. The outlook for winter feed is unpromising. It is the worst dry spell known in this disr trict. The Pelorus and Wakamarino rivers are very low. 1 DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC. GISSOR!NE, May 16.
