A VENTURESOME LAD.
AUCKLAND, May 14. ; A boy, aged about twelve years£is at present at the Salvation-Army Home ' while the police are endeavoring to lo^' cate his parents. As far as can be gatlx- ' ered, the lad comes from Qmstchurch. j He was given money by Ms niother to ■purchase some boots, but, desiring to see > more of New Zealand, boarded the ferryboat at Lyttelton instead, and travelled to Wellington. Here he fell in with two soldiers, who, on being told that he j wished to see some l-elatives in Auckland, paid his railway fare. . They kept j a friendly eye on the lad after his ar- ; rival, but as far as they can gather, he , has no relatives here. He was therefore _ j handed over to the police for safe keep- ! I ing pending further information.
