THE MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Allow me a short space in your paper to ask the candidates at the coming election a few questions: (1) What is the use of standing for a position in the Council if they are not going to Jet the people .know what they intend to do? In other towns candidates are telling the ratepayers what their views are; why not here? (2) Are they in favor of an eight-hour day for borough employees? (3) What is their attitude to town planning and our 40-acre section? (4) Are they in favor of duplicating the mains? <5) Are they in favor of a Greater Hawera? An early reply to these questions by the candidates will be in the interests of each candidate, .as w.e do not intend putting in anyone who is afraid to let us know his views.—l am, etc., RATEPAYER.
