PROHIBITION MEETING
There was a large attendance at the Town Hall last night, when a prohibition demonstration was held. The speakers were Mr R. Masters (chairman ♦t the Taranaki Education Board) and Mrs Rankin. The former dealt with "the liquor party's latest circular relating to the children being taught to withstand" temptation. Mrs Rankin held her audience closely interested during her address, in which she re- '■ futed some of the statements of the ! trade. The address was a forcible one, j and brimful of humor, the audience: asking for more at the finish. The poi dance was especially j appreciated. Other items were recita- I tions by Master Irwin and Misses Scotney and Tonks. Several children (with Miss Streeter as queen) took part in a temperance court. I
