TECHNICAL COLLEGE
SUCCESSFUL SPORTS
The Technical College held their annual sports, postponed on account of the epidemic, in the old Recreation Grounds, King Edward Park, yesterday. The gatnermg was very successful. The medal promised by the director (Mr A. Gray) for the pluckiest runner of the day was unanimously voted to Ralph Sage, who made a phenomenal run from a good distance back at the finish of the mile race. Dickson, who had led practically throughout lasted just long enough to win by inches from his smaller opponent. Another splendid finish was witnessed in the 440 yards championship, when Diekson, jyho had run a very "heady" race throughout, tackled the leader, Humphreys, in the last 25 yards and won by a hairsbreadth. In the high jump (sft £in) the judges were unable to separate Diekson and Thompson. Messrs Lynskey and Catton officiated as judges, Mr Johnson as timekeeper, Mr Gray as starter, and, Mr Tugwell a« recorder.
