ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION.

A most euthusiastic reception was iven this morning to the 748 officers nd men who returned by the Athenic nd to the 184 soldiers' wives, who came Pt by the vessel. The weather was the, and the geaieial publio turned out n thousands. The steamer came alongside the Ling's wharf shortly before 8 o'clock, md landing arrangements were carried rat without a bitch. The Civil Service prls' choir, Patriotic Society band, and he Salvation Army Band took part. the soldiers' wives were entertained at norning tea at the Town Hall by the Mayoress and the men at the Returned Soldiers' dub.
