WHAREROA.
(Prom a Correspondent.)
A large party met at the Whareroa -Uall on Iriday evening- last to bid farewell and to show their esteem to Mr and Mrs Benton and family, who "have left this locality. A merry evening was spent in dancing. Mrs Quinlan, of Ha, wera, supplied the music and extras were given by Mrs Benton and Miss Hodge. Mr B; Bloor proved an M.C. * out on his own- 3' The floor was in tiptop order. An excellent supper was supplied by the Whareroa ladies. Mr R. Hicks, chairman, expressed his pleasure in handing to Mrs I-enton a handsome silver set—teapot, sngar basin, and cream jug. He referred to th« wiling help she had given in every way m Whareroa and to the many friends they had made there and wished them all luck in theiir new district Mr Benton suitably replied, thanking all tor thear fine gifts and saying it had given Mrs Benton very great pleasure to be of any little use to the district
