HEAVY GALE IN AUCKLAND
(BY TELEGBAPH —PRSBS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 13. During a heavy gale tiha ferry Steamer Pupuko stranded on the mud bank near Bayswater wharf at 8.30 p.m. Nearly 50 passengers spent an uncomfortable night aboard, getting.ashorp at 7.30 this morning. Anotlhetr 40 intending passsngers, including 15 ladies, haJ gathered on the ferryl at 11 p.m. When tho caretaker locked up they took refuge in the cabin of the ferry steamer Eagle, alongside of the quay,- the ladies using lifebelts for rUlows.
