BULGARIA STILL IMPENITENT
STERN PUNISHMENT NEEDED. LONDON. Nov 20. The Times' Sofia correspondent writes that Bulgaria is still thoroughly impenitent and needs stern punishment. The people regard thmeslves as unconquered, and act as though they had actually won. •
There have been evasions of the armistice. The British authorities are patient, But the French general recently ensured obedience by threatening an immediate bombardment.
There were only 53,000 survivors out of 100,000 interned Serbs. Greek and Macedonian civilian prisoners have been horribly maltreated, being flogged and starved, while typhus patients were .locked in empty houses and died by thousands.
The 250 British who were captured at Doiran were forced to march to Sofia, bootless and foodless. Many died on the way.—Times Service.
