A Christchurch telegram reports the death of Mrs Julius, wife of the Bishop of Christchurch; aged 74. Mrs J. Grant, Hawera, has received advice that her son, Gunner W. Grant, will be returning to New Zealand this week. Gunner Grant left with the Main Body,, and has been on active service four years. In the Magistrate's Court this morning, a youth named John Lionel Baker, on three charges of the theft of clothing, was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment without hard labor. 'Messrs W. Cowern and E. Dixon, J.P.s, were on the Bench.
