IMPORTANT N.Z. INDUSTRY. An interesting description is given in the Southland Times of a new mill being erected for Messrs Fleming and Co., inanufactuiers of Creamaata and other cereal ; foods. This mill, it is claimed, wiil.be t!he most complete of its kind in Australasia. It\is stated that in 1917 more than, three-fifths of the oat foods used, in the Dominion were manufactured by"; the Gore mills. The structural designing has been done by Mr Blair Mason-^. A feature of the building will be. tbift the whole of the' outer walls, with the exception of the structural piers, will be of glass, thus making the building' what is known today as a ''Sunlight" Factory, and every known device* J'f or • ample ventilation and general!hygiene will be provided. In-regard to ■'the machinery a special permit has been obtained from the authorities to import t!he required machinery in view *of its use for the manufacture of foodstuffs and to replace plant destroyed by fire. The..automatic! filling, weighing and sealing macbin-' cry is built by the Pneumatic, Scale i Corporation of Boston, U.S.A., and is! similar to plants' used by the Quaker Oats Company, Kellogg's Toasted Corn-: Flake Company, and many of the largest, fpjod packers in America. Moreover, this is the only plant of its kind in Australaeia ; and the firm is to be congratulated on its enterprise in install-: ing such efficient machinery. ! So far as New Zealand made food' products are concerned, Messrs Fleming and Company, Ltd., have proved that -What can be done in other countries can be djpne here in the Dominion. Progressive methods and judici-1 ous newspaper advertising have demon- j etrated to merchants, retailers and the public .that the imported articles for which we have the raw materials here can b© equalled and even excelled by our New. Zealand manufacturers.

In the Ford factory alone they are making eleven thousand caissons for field artillery. Presumably that means eleven thousand guns (says a. San | Francisco paper). When the apex of production is readied, one caisson will be produced every ten minutes. Somewhere about that time, or not long thereafter, a gun will be produced every ten minutes. All tea, as weil as all coffee berries are roasted, in order to develop the flavor- Otherwise they would not appeal to the palate. And now our New Zealand-grown tobaccos. Gold Pouch and rl3bree Diamonds, are subjected to the same process.—they are toasted. The difference in the flavor i« surprising! Smokers should not fail to give this toasted tobacco a trial; they are m for a new flavor and for a genuine article with no moisture added or sauce, or other adulteration. It is all pure tobacco, containing but little nicotine, and therefore a healthy smoke, not affecting the heart or nerves. No advance in price, two full ounces for a shilling.—Advt. SANDER'S EUCALYPTI EXTRACT, the unequalled remedy iror colds, chest troubles, neuralgia, rheumatism. Sander's Extract, the euro protection from all iniections, fever, diphtheria, meningitis. Sander's Extract, the great healer of wounds, bums, ulcers, sprains, ekin diseases. Sander's Extract, proved at the Supreme Court of Victoria to contain antiseptic and healing substances not present in other eucalpytus preparations; hence its superior curative powers. Sander's Ex- : tract, free from the irritating qualities i of the common eucalyptus oils and the I so-called "extracts,'' is 6afe for in-j ternal and external use. Insist on thegenuine Sander Extract; there is none "just as good."—Adrt. Barraeiough's Nervine lor Toothache. —Advt. i
