Dixon) are reproduced, while the letterpress refers to the progress made by the j Army during its twenty-four years in I Hawera. ;l A Wellington telegram states that advice has been received that the j Shipping Controller of Australia has re- .' fused to permit the Huddart Parker Company to replace the Wimmera by a cargo boat, as desired. Consequently the New Zealand Government has : taken the matter up with the Prime : Minister of the Commonwealth. Meantime, after consultation with Mr Bond, general traffic manager of the Union i Company, who is at present in Wellington, arrangements have been made to run the Tarawera .several trips between • Sydney and Auckland, in addition to special arrangements made for the Atua to call at Auckland in August and I September en route from Fiji to Sydj noy, thus relieving the immediate -posiij tion, after which the matter will be j further reviewed. i Do not fail to read the programme to : be given by the Eltham boys, in another ' part of this issue.
