SHEEP DOG CHAMPION TRIALS. w —^ For the first time in the history of dog trials in Hawera the North Island Championships will be held in Hawera at Mr Brewer'si farm, Taiporphenui. The management is under th c control of the Egmont Sheep Dog Club. Valuable cups, including ten-guinea cups presented by the N.Z. Loan, and Mercantile Co., Farmers' Co-op and Mr Newton King, Mr R. D. D. McLean's challenge salver bowl, Mr James Lillico's handsome shield, the Rutherford Memorial Shield, and gold medals presented by Mr Cramp, Mr J. Harrington, and Mri P. Sheahan. In addition, there will be good cash prizes. Entries are coming m from all parts of. North and South Islands. It is confidently expected that there will be a capital meeting. Eu-i tries close on Wednesday next, May 29th, with Mr G. H. Stringer, Hawera. In connection, with, the meeting a smoke concert will be held on Tuesday evening June 4, and a meeting of North Island delegates on Wednesday evening.
