The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows:
At our Opunake sale on Monday we had a fair yarding, and the following prices were realised: Fat gows £11 5s to £12 10s, store cow's £7 os to £8 10s, 20-month steers (bad colors) £5 la, weaner heifers £1 10s to £1 los, mixed weaners £2 10s, dairy heifers £8 7s 6d to £8 10s.
At Manaia on Tuesday our yarding was small owing to the rough weather, and the advertised heifers on account of Mr Jos. Mourie did not come forward, but will do so for our next sale. Forward cows £8 5s to £9, store cows £5 10s to £7 10s, weaner steers £3 12s 6d; heifers £2 17s, mixed weaners £1 11s, cull lambs ss, dairy heifers £9 os to £10 los.
At Palmer road on Friday the inclemency of the weather prevented cattle coming forward in great numbers, nevertheless prices were' on a par with recent sales. We Quote: Fat cows £10 12s 6d to £11 6s, fresh conditioned empty cows £9 los to £10 ss. forward and store cows £8 to £9 7s, light cows £5 7s 6d to £6 Is, weaner heifers £1 10s, dairy heifers £8 19s to £10. At Waverley on Friday the yarding was fair. Forward and fat cows made £9 8s to £11 7s fid, store cows £6 to £7 12s, heifers £6, store pigs 26s 6d, 4 and 6-tooth wethers (stores) 28s.
