« The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Hawera branch, report as follows:— At opunake on Monday the yarding was small, and the demand for weaners was very keen. 2J-year steers £10, fat cows £11 to £11 15s, forward cows £9 IQs to £10 6s, light and store cows £4 Is to £8 17s 6d, weaner heifers £2 0s 6d to £3 18s, steers £2 19s to £4 10s.
At Manaia yards on Tuesday we had a fair yarding, and prices were on a par with recent sales. Fat cows made £11 10s to £12 2s, forward cows £9 8s to £10 6s, store oows £5 10s to £8 9s, weaner steers £2 16s to £3 ss: heifers £1 9s 6d to £2.
On Friday, at Palmer road, cattle came forward in good numbers, and prices realised as follows: —Fat cows £11 to £12, forward £9 15s to £10 18s, store cow s £7 19s to £9 9s, light cows £5 10s to £7 ss, weaner steers £1 7s 6d to £3 '4s, heifers £2 10s to £3 7s 6d, weaner pigs 9 S to 13s, lambs 14s, in-calf 2..year heifers £11, bulls £8 2s 6d to £9. . At Waverley on Friday, 10th inst., cattle came forward in small quantities, but there was a good yarding of sheep, all of which sold at advanced rates on previous sales. Full-mouth wethers (in good condition) 30s sd, 4 and 6-tooth wethers (in low condition) 22s 2d to 25 S , f.f.m ewe s 255, woolly lambs 19s Id, shorn lambs 19s 2d, cull lamb s 6s to 12 S 6d.
