KEEN AS MUSTARD.
THE AUSTRALIAN SOLDIER
SYDNEY, April 25. Senator Pratten recently received a letter from Brigadier-General P. P. Abbott, M.H.R., in which he says:— "My service here in the front scene of operations has opened my eyes to the value of our Australians—they are splendid. The whole five divisions art, now. together in the one army corps, and they are completely worked and staffed by Australians (with the exception of seven Imperial officers, principally men who came from India with General Birdwood). - ' "After over three years of war our Australian officers are completely 'au fait' with the business, and there is no post they are unable to fill. "I have seen the seamy side—the rough side in the front line, where our boys ever watchful, and "within 100 yards of Fritz, keep their silent watch, as keen as mustard, and so same."
