THE PREMIER'S APPEAL.
"LET THERE BE AN END TO THIS SNIPING."
(Received May 11, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, May 10. In the House of Commons, Mr Lloyd George, speaking with deep emotion, begged and implored that there should be an end to this sniping. (Prolonged cheers.)
Sir E. Carson said he thought that the question to be decided was whether the tribunal of enquiry should be judges or a select committee. He deprecated either, but preferred the latter. He asked the House to consider whether they were doing a service to the country o rthe Alliance by continuing the debate. Were we, he asked solemnly, to summon, generals to give evidence against Ministers and vice versa. He appealed to Mr Asquith not to proceed with his motion.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. '
