PROHIBITED LITERATURE.
■T IXUQIUPE—PRESS ASSOCIATION.
AUCKLAND, March 30.' A deputation from the Loyal Orange" Lodge and Protestant Political Association interviewed the Hon. A M Myers, slating they desired to obtain ceram. publications on Romanism from other countries. As Minister of Customs Mr Myers had decided he could not allow it.
Rev. Mr Smith said this literature was required to counteract certain disloyalty.
Mr Myers said he had seen the literature in question. He had consulted Mr Massey,-and they had decided it would be prejudicial to recruiting and stopped it coming in. They had to recognise the Empire was at war. It was necessary to present a united front, particularly in view of the critical situation now existing. He suggested their views were one-sided but promised to bring them before Cabinet soon.
