ALL GERMAN EFFORTS BROKEN

BRITISH HOLD THE LINE,

The High Commissioner reports from London, at 2.50 p.m. on the 29th: A French official report states that in the Montdidier1 region heavy fighting has taken place. The Germans, suffering heavy losses, have been unable to regain the .villages captured' yesterday. Their attacks have been broken northwards of Montdidier. The English victoriously hold the line.
