COUNTRY AND SUBURSAN.
HOUSE LIGHTING
Suburban and country householders have for many years suffered from all of the inconveniences inseparable from the use of. kerosene lamps or acetylene gas. Just at present carbide is almost unprocurable, and the small supplies available are being sold at exorbitant prices. This shortage of carbide has ' been to many people a blessing in dis- ! guise, as it has decided them to dis- ' pense with their expensive and dangerous acetylene gas plants, and have "Wizard" Lighting Systems installed instead. ' • The "Wizard" v Light is ideal for country homes and stores; it.«ds cheap to install and cheap to use. The lamps are patented' and are in every way superior to any other hollow wire lamps on the market. A few people who had not heard of the merits, of the "Wizard" Light have been persuaded to inj stall lamps that are made on a principle i long, since discarded in "Wizard" Lamps. These lamps require a torch dipped in methylated spirit to light them, so that a householder on arriving home at night must first light a match and find the methylated spirit bottle, then a flaring torch, is applied to the lamp for about a minute before the lamp will light. To light a "Wizard" Lamp an ordinary match is applied to 1 the generator for a few seconds, a lever I. is turned, and the lamp is alight. The } "Wizard" generator is fitted with an. automatic needle to keep the jet clean, while the generator on other lamps must be pricked with a needle, the same as a Primus Stove. "Wizard" Lamps are insect proof, which means a great saving in mantles and globes in the summer. ■ Country and suburban residents should write at once to Messrs Early Bros., Ltd., 187 Featherston Street. Wellington, for full particulars and price of "Wizard" Lighting Systems.—C2l. 30
