THE WEEK'S SUBMARINE TOLL.

LONDON,, March 29. The Admiralty supplies the following figures of shipping tor the week as relating to submarines, which compare with the previous week as follows:— Mar 17. Mar 24 Arrivals 2098 2471 Departures 2317 2488 Sunk over 1600 tons 11 16 Sunk under 1600 tons ... 6 . 12 Unsuccessfully attacked 11 19 The sinkings over 1500 tons include one sunk in the week ended 16th inst., and the figures under 1600 tons embrace four small sailers sunk in DecemberJanuary.

The Italian arrivals for the week, were 443 and sailings 412. The sinkings were three steamers over 1500 tons and two sailers over 100 tons and three under that tonnage. One vessel was unsuccessfully attacked. French shipping figures for the week are: Arrivals. 925; sailings, 961; sink, ings, lover and five under 1600 tons; unsuccessfully .attacked, two.

GADIZ, March 27. Thirty-five survivors of the Spanish steamer Artillery have arrived. She was torpedoed by a German; submarine.

LONDON, March 28. The American tank steamer Paulsboro had an hour's fight with a submarine. The U-boat ■vas sunk.
