RV CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHi (Received March 28, 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 28. Mr Hughes denies the report that the Government proposes additional taxation. Modifications, he says, are intended in the wartime profits and bachelor taxes, but these will not involve increases.
At the show sales the champion Shorthorn bull Baritone fetched 1700 guineas.
The Government has appointed Dr Neville Sayman as commissioner to visit New Zealand and report on the methods to combat infant mortality and secure the general welfare of mothers and children.
