THE PRICE OF WHEAT
CHRISTCHURCH, March 27 at :i- a/ meeting of the executive of the North Canterbury Farmers'' Union today, Government prices for next year's wheat were discussed. It was held that the Government in advancing the price of flour and offals, had robbed the producers of the increase offered, and it was decided to write to the Minister W«i nCf lf?;i if"? ?° int out *ha* * breach of faith had taken place,, and to ask that the matter be adjusted. The general opinion was that the prices ofWOUi d ™sult in a greatly reduced acreage of wheat being sown, and the Government would have to import grain to make U p the shortage, and pay v.or* for it they were offering the New" Zealand growers.
