4,Tne Prime Minister (Right Hon Mr Massey) attained his 63rd_year on Monday, says the Wellington Post. Hewas born at Londonderry on March 26th, 1856. Numerous birthday greetings have been received by him—the first to arrive being one from Lord Rhondda, Food Controller of Great Britain, who was born on the same day as the Prime Minister. ' A London cablegram reports the death of Claude j Debussy, the wellknown composer. ... The Rev. C. H. Grant Cowen went to Wanganui. this morning. The vicar is to exchange pulpits for Good Friday with Archdeacon Reeve, who will conduct the three hours' aervice at St. Mary's to-morrow. Major Henty on April 2 relinquishes hie appointment on the local staff of the Defence * office, but retaining his rank of major with the Territorial forces. Major Henty took up his present duties early in the war. Mr Peter Dawson, the vocalist, writing to Mr William Caldow, secretary of the Wellington Choral Union, 6ays that he is to go into camp in Australia on May 1. Mr Dawson is well known to the world through the agency of the gramophone.—Dominion. A hospital progress report issued on Tuesday included the following: Still dangerously iIL R.
