SOLDIERS' CLUBS
WELLINGTON, Feb. 11. A deputation of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association "waited upon the Hon. G. W. Russell with reference to his remarks regarding the proposed expenditure of large sums on permanent clubs for returned soldiers. The deputation expressed the opinion that clubs exercised a good influence generally and assisted considerably in the repatriation of soldiers. The Hon. G. W. Russell said he would not himself give a decision in the matter, but would take the opinion of Cabinet.
