WAR EXPENDITURE.
MEETING OF COMMISSION

WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. The War Expenditure Commission met to-day, but did not take evidence. General llobin stated that he and his officers would facilitate the work of the commission, and in order to facilitate matters he was prepared to .attach, should the commission desire it, an officer of the headquarters staff, who might be useful in giving information, by reason of his knowledge of the working of the different branches. This officer would he handy to give information on the spot. If his suggestion met with approval, he would nominate Major Andrews. In reply to the chairman, . General Robin said the officer would be attached merely for the purpose of supplying information. The commission agreed to the suggestion, and formally adjourned to meet at Auckland on' Monday next to take evidence.
