At the Magistrate's Court to-day a grocer was charged under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act regulations., with selling foods by'weight without having plainly marked on the package the net weight of the contents and the manufacturer's name. The defendant had purchased honey in hulk and had run it off into carton packages to save time in weighing. ( ' Tha Magistrate, Mr McCarthy, said the package was a sealed one, and came within the regulations, and a fine of £5 was imposed. Notice of appeal was given. ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE. WANGANUI; Jan. 25. Catherine Milne, aged 25, pleaded guilty at the Court .to-day to a charge of the attempted murder of Fidelio May Baron, aged 3£ years } and attempted suicide. ""' v~ ' : The evidence showed that accused dissolved anti-septic pills and administered the solution to the girl. She then took some herself. She then gave the alarm and assistance coming quickly to hand, recovered. .: Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. * INDECENT PHOTOGRAPH.
