A FARM WHITEWASH.

. The following is a whitewash whiich is in general use by many dairy farmers and one that is recommended by Mr H. W. Potts. F.C.S., F.L.S., Principal of the Hawkesbury Agricultoral College, who supplies the following information as to its preparation and advantages:—Mix air-slaked lime with treshly skimmed ra;!lk to a suitable oon sisteney, so that it can be applied smoothly with the brush. To each gallon of this cream-like mixture add one ounce of ordinary table salt. It is advisable to make just sufficient wash for the day and to use it fresh. This wash dries readily on wooden or iron surfaces. It possesses the advantage of adhering firmly, does not flako off and

lasta longer than that prepared by most of the other forms m use. It has the additional advantage that the materials are always at hand on dairy farms.
