After .a lively bombardment1 * special detachments attacked at various points, notably east of Moisy farm, east and west ■of Cerny and on both sides of Hurte"bise. Our watchfulness frustrated them. A violent enemy counter-attack was attempted on the southern outskirts. | of Beaumont, on the right.bank of the Meuse. Our fire annihilated these efforts, and we held all the positions won. ■Over 1100 unwounded men, including •thirty-two officers, w.ere made prisoner.
