JAPANESE MEDIATION SOUGHT.

VANCOUVER, July 9
The local Chinese newspaper has received Pekin advices to the effect that Chang Hsun has been advised by all the military governors to ask Baron Hayashi to mediate with the Republicans on the basis of the restoration of the republic and the appointment of Ministers, and that Baron Hayashi has asked his Government for instructions.
PEKIN, July 10
It is expected that when Tuan Chujiu has settled the present trouble he will declare war on Germany.
LONDON, July 9
In the House of Commons, in reply to a question regarding the Chinese upheaval, Mr Bonar Law said there was no danger to foreigners. The Legations had warned Pekin that communication between the capital and the sea must be kept open.
