On Saturday morning an accident..'. happened on .he Stratiord road,- half a mile below the school, where therV road winas alongside a creek. Mr James Crosbie. nis wife, and three-year-old daughter, -and Miss Greviile,, , assistant at the Mahoe school, were- ' - driving into Stratford when the horse - f6ll, tnrowing them over its head on to the road. ■ The ladies were somewhat bruised and. badly shaken, but otherwise were not seriously hurt. Mr Crosbie's face and hands were cut severely, and he was badly shaken, '" but the child unfortunately had one--of her wrists broken. Mr _'. J. Crossley, of Cardiff, who came by a few minutes later, conveyed Mr Crosbie and the child to Kaponga, where Dr~ Buist attended the suiferers. Ihe con-. tents of the vehicle were thrown down into the creek. The accident happened at a spot where, a wash-out of the road, took place some months ago, and some, protection should be provided by theCounty Council at this spot. Norman Sattler, the victim of a gun accident, is progressing well, and.. will soon be fit to leave the hospital.
