A French paper has discovered a new instrument of frightfulness devised by the inventive German mind. It consists of a large and apparently innocent blue pencil, which, when used, writes quite well. But below an inch Or two of lead is a glass tube, and further down still a celluloid tube. If the glass tube is broken and the pencil placed upright on the other end chemical substances produce an explosion in a certain period of time, from 20 minutes to one hour, according to the surrounding temperature. This instrument is said to be supplied by the German Government to its 6ecret agents. THE THREE WAYS. Gargle for throats, Sniff op the nostrils for Catarrh, Swallow fox Influenza. Don't forget that Pluenzol not only kills the bacilli, but also heals and soothes the delicate membraneous lining of the throat and nose. Everywhere 1/6 and 2/6. Absolutely felu'sa substitutes* " • *
