STRONG TRENCH'SYSTEM CAPTCRED.

SUCCESSFUL FRENCH AIR OPERATIONS.

LONDON, Feb. 12. Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig rejports: Northwards of the Ancre we 'Captured a strong system of trenches •at the southern foot of Serre, Hill, on three-quarters of a mile of front, and iook 215 prisoners, which exceeds the total of our casualties. We drove back the enemy south of Sailly-Saillisel, and entered the trenches in their neighborhood of Pys, La Bassee, Neuve Cha.pelle and Fauquisant. A French communique on the 12th states that there has been moderate general artillerying and successful air ■operations. Factories and blast, furnaces in Lorraine villages have been "bombed, also aerodromes at Colmar and Zeebrugge. The latest German atrocity in Belgium is that the military authorities "have removed three hundred lunatics from Bruges asylum, and are not allowing the guardians to prepare for their reception elsewhere.
