(From Our Own Correspondent.)

PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE. At a meeting of the Patriotic Committee, held on Friday night, votes of thanks were passed to the Wanganui Garrison Band, to the Sisters of the Convent, and to Mrs Blennerhassett for donations from proceeds of concerts given respectively by them. Other business of a routine nature was transacted. PERSONAL. Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., left by mail train this morning to join the Parliamentary party in Auckland on their visit to the Far North. Mr and Mrs J. L. Weir returned to Eltham from their holiday on Saturday.
