The-following is a statement trom June 1 to September 1, 1916 • Receipts: Wounded Soldiers' Dependents' Fund, £32; Red Cross Eltham tea, £59 ©s M; Belgian relief, £8 15s 8d; Glee Club, £12; donations, £1 13stotal, £113 9s 4d. Expenses: Donation t° a W^S de4 , Soldiers'. Dependents' £"nd.£32; Bekaan Fund, £8 15s 8d ; Red Cross Eu-nd. £59 Os 8d; stamps etc., 3s; balance in hand, £13 10s Consideration of the balance-sheet gave rise to the following resolution : "That it be an instruction to the Mangatoki delegates on the Eltham County Committee, and a recommendation to th© Central Cortrnittee, to keep a record of all local soldier®, and that the delegates also endeavor to keep in personal touch With each returned solder '■' A question was asked about the School District Show. Tbe chairman stated that as the amount had not been received it:did hot appear on the bal-ance-sheet, but that the sum was passed for payment and he would receive it shortly. No other questions arising, the balance-sheet was adopted The report dealt with the following topics: (1) Activities of the Ladies' Committee in Belgian relief, soldiers' gift boxes, Red Cross work, etc.; (2) the affiliation with the Taranaki War Relief Association and the advantages accruing, also the work of the two delegates. Following a discussion on the organisation of send-off socials it was resolved: That an honors board of all men enlisted from Mangatoki be procured, and with the permission of the School Comittee be placed in the school; also that the Send-off Committee consist of Messrs Corkill, Gifford, and-Curteis, who act in the matter of send-offs as a separate committee. Other resolutions were: That £5 be voted to the Soldiers' Gift Box Fund, and an endeavor be made to send each individual Mangatoki lad a box direct ;£ om, tne committee.. This was left in the hands of the ladies to arrange Messrs Curteis and Gifford were appointed delegates to Eltham County Committee. Mr-Pease, as county chair-' wan. is also on that committee. That the Ladies' Committee be the ladies of* the general committee, and that a statement of receipts and expenditure! be handed in quarterly. The commit-' '*e& consists of Messrs E. J. Gifford, I A.. Rogers, A. Corkill, T. Linn, D. Astbury, A. C. Pease, R. Dawbin. C. £. McGuinness, D. L. Astbury, W. W. Clarke, W. A. Curteis (chairman and fecretary), Mesdames Dawbin, Astbury, 'McCracken, A. Rogers, Clarke, Curteis, lease, Linn,. Corkill. Lambie, Gifford, Misses Lambie and Corkill (with power t0 add). A snecial vote of thanks was accorded to the chairman for his services during the past year; also to the c lee> Club for its donation of £12; and to the residents in general who had responded to the calls made on them
