TURKS CLAIM A. SUCCESS
PETROGRAD, June 8 A communique states: Our artillery stopped a large Turkish offensive in the direction of Erzingan, and we occupied strongly fortified position* in the Jvhanakm region. Our 'cavalry attacked the enemy trenches and sabred several battalions.
_...., LONDON, June 8. A lurkish communique states: We drove the Russians out of their positions on the Caucasus front, extending over fourteen kilometres, and chased them tor eight kilometres. We occupied positions on the Mairam range dominating the enemy's left wing, and captured much munitions. Enemy detachments seeking to save their guns were killed.
Seven, enemy ships bombarded Kuscheada and the coast eastward, causing a fire.
