Bethmann-Holiweg, in his Reichstag speech, added: "Our enemies wish the war to continue: We fear' neither death, the devil, nor the hunger devil which our enemies wish to send to Germany. Our proud bluejackets have showed Albion that rats can bite and are fashioned from a breed which knows low to bear privations."
