ENTERTAINMENT
On Friday last a concert party from Okaiaw.i gave an entertainment "in the Town Hall in aid of the Union Church (Okaiawa) vestry fund. Unfortunately, owing no doubc to the school picnic having been held during the day, there was not a large attendance. Mr Chivers occupied the chair, and the following ladies and gentlemen rendered items which were heartily received by the audience: Chorus. "Away to'the West," by the company; song,' "Grace Darling," Mr Blackmail; recitation, "Too Utterly Utter." Miss Joll; marching and wand drill, squad of young =ladies; quartettes, "Comrades' Song of Hope" and "Sweet Genevieve," Messrs E. G., C. and E. Penfold and Blackmail; song, "Tipperary." Private Williams; duet. "Friendship," Misses Joll; recitations "Give for Our Boys at the Front" and the "Little Corporal," Master. Eric Chivers. The tableau "Britannia and her Allies." was pretty, the dressing being good; Britannia, Thelma Murdock; Belgium, Bertha Green; France, Eileen Johns: Japan, Grace Betts: Russia, Dorice West; England. E. Chivers. The entertainment concluded with the dramatic sketch "A Royal Fugitive." which caused a great deal of amusement, the various parts being well sustained: Charles 11., Maud Chivers; Lady Grenville, Doris Joll; Marjorie and Rupert (her children), Ethel Robertson and C. Blair; Patience, Flossie Williams; Simon, E.'Chivers; Zulekia, Millie Green; Laylos, D. Johnston c: Soldiers of the Parliamentary Troops — A. Ross and" B. Bailey. The National Anthem brought a pleasant evening to a close.
