TWO SUICIDES

DUNEDIN, Jan. 9. At an early hour this morning, im the Dunedin Hospital, a returned soldier named William John Willis wasfound by one of the nurses with his^ throat cut, and a razor in his hand. He was brought back to New Zealand* on the Maheno, and when admitted to* hospital was suffering- from dysenteryDeceased was a widower, and resided;, in Dunedin.
WELLINGTON, Jan. 8. The body of an old age pensionernamed William Isaac Wilshire was-, found hanging in a tree in Newtowa Park yesterday morning, close' to Russell Terrace. Deceased, who resided in Gordon street, was last seen alive byIns son on Thursday afternoon He is--sa:d to have been low-spirited since thedeath of his wire in September last A note, found on the body, addressed to the coroner contained an intimationthat the old man intended to .take his lite.
