FOOD CRISIS IN BERLIN. POOR ON VERGE OF STARVATION DEAD HORSES TAKEN TO MARGARINE FACTORIES. (Received Oct. 28, 2 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, Oct. 27. An unquestionable source states that the food crisis in Berlin has become a panic. The poorer classes are on the verge of starving and women are storming the shops crying for food. There are broken windows everywhere. There is a dearth of raw material, and an alarming shortage of glycerine for war factories, which are commandeering lard and butter. Dead horses are railed from the fronts and taken to margarine factories.
