HORSE FAIR.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. commenced their annual spring horse fair to-day (Thursday). The sale will extend over Friday and Saturday, and approximately 800 horses will be offered. There is a good attendance of \ buyers, all parts of the North? Island being represented. A start was made with the unbroken horses, mostly heavy sorts. Prices were rather dull at the outset, but improved considerably as the sale progressed, and at the time we -went to press the market was considerably better than was anticipated. The following prices were obtained this morning: Unbroken draughts (medium quality) £30 to £34.. light do. £24 los to £28 unbroken half-draughts and, milk cari> ers £18 10s to £25, unbroken spring cart sorts £14 to £17. unbroken 2-year growers £16 to £22 10s
