PRISONERS IN TURKEY

BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. Since so many New Zealand soldiers -have been reported missing a number of people'have, attempted to communicate with residents of Turkey to obtain information regarding individual soldiers. As all postal communication with Turkey has ceased these letters have to be returned to the senders through the Dead Letter Office. The j Postmaster-General states that persons Jiaving friends or relatives reported to be missing may write a postcard to the missing soldier, and send it to the Deputy-^CHief Postal Censor at Wellington, who will forward it to the proper quarter for delivery. The postcard should be addressed to the soldier toy .his Tank, number, namey and regiment, the words "Believed to be i»isoner of war in Turkey," being added. The card should be' fully signed by the * sender. postage stamps are required to be affixed, and written matter should be strictly confined to social and domestic affairs. Any reference to the •wax., or .politics, or to the state of the country, will result in destruction j of the card.
