EXPORT OF MUNITIONS

AUSTRIAN CONTENTION

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 27.

Austria has replied to the American Note, declaring that she has not changed her opinion regarding the American export of munitions. She does not object to normal traffic iv war material, but the United States has become* militarised because her economic* life has become subservient to the production of war material on the greatest possible sdale, and her concentration thereupon is a means of effective support to the Allies. Her excessive export of munitions would be inadmissible even if she supplied both belligerent parties.
